Job summary

Amedisys in Metairie, LA is hiring a licensed practical nurse for full-time days to help patients heal at home. You will work within a leading home health provider, offering flexibility, purpose, and growth while delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include verifying plans of care, collaborating with physicians and RNs, teaching patients, monitoring vital signs, reconciling medications, and documenting accurately.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; notify changes promptly.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g., foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
