Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Fredericksburg, VA for full-time days to support home health patients. You will verify plans of care, coordinate with RNs and physicians, teach patients self-care, monitor vitals, reconcile medications, and document visits in a timely manner.

Compensation includes orientation pay of $30.00–$33.00 per hour, a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• LPN with 1 year of clinical experience required.
• Active LPN license in assigned state(s).
• Current CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN to meet patient needs; notify changes promptly.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs at visits.
• Review medications and perform reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform physician-ordered specialized procedures (e.g., Foley catheter changes).
• Prepare equipment and materials using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
