Job summary

UBMD Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our gynecology team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The position supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering compassionate, efficient care to patients across the lifespan.

Located in Downtown Buffalo with additional opportunities in Williamsville, this onsite role offers a collaborative work environment and opportunities to contribute to quality patient care within UBMD Obstetrics

Qualifications

• Active New York State LPN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient symptoms, determine urgency, and guide appropriate care per guidelines.
• Serve as liaison between patients and providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Document all patient interactions in the EHR accurately.
• Assist with procedures, venipuncture, specimen preparation, and other duties as needed.

Position Summary

UBMD Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our gynecology team. This position supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering compassionate, efficient care to patients across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Triage & Patient Communication

• Assess patient symptoms and concerns, determine urgency, and recommend appropriate levels of care in accordance with clinical judgment, evidence-based guidelines, and UBMD/NYS protocols
• Serve as a clinical liaison between patients and providers to ensure continuity of care
• Provide nursing advice, education, and counseling to patients and families regarding care plans and next steps

Care Coordination & Medication Management

• Facilitate medication refills and prior authorizations per provider direction
• Assist with referrals and coordination of multidisciplinary care
• Complete insurance prior authorization requests as required

Documentation, Quality & Safety

• Accurately document all patient communications, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Adhere to UBMD and New York State standards of care, promoting patient safety and quality outcomes

Additional Clinical Support

• Assist providers with procedures as needed
• Perform venipuncture, blood collection, and specimen preparation for laboratory testing
• Support clinical operations by performing LPN or medical assistant duties when necessary
• Participate in additional clinical or administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications
