Job summary

Oak Hill is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health and well-being of students in the Bristol Classroom. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., providing health monitoring and implementing programs to promote health and the educational process under a Certified Special Education Teacher. The LPN will collaborate with educational teams, document in line with nurse standards, and help create a positive school climate.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse certificate and be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work within school settings and follow Nurse standards and school policy.

Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of individuals by monitoring health status and providing appropriate treatments to individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities to enable their highest quality of life in terms of their physical, emotional, and mental health while adhering to Oak Hill’s policies and procedures. The LPN at Oak Hill’s Bristol Classroom works 40 hours/week, M-F 7:30a-3:30p and assists in maintaining the health and well-being of students by monitoring health issues and implementing policies, procedures and programs designed to promote health and the educational process. Additionally, the LPN assists in the educational and social development of students under the direction of the Certified Special Education Teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Provides medical care and treatment required to ensure students’ ability to learn and actively engage in their education.
  • Works with educational teams to integrate the health care plan into routine school programs.
  • Communicates directly with nurse supervisor, in addition to appropriate contacts, and documenting in accordance with nurse standards and school policy manual
  • Assists in implementation of instruction to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and promote their curiosity about the world at large
  • Works with colleagues, students and families to develop a positive school climate that supports student learning.
  • Maximizes support for student learning by developing and demonstrating professionalism, collaboration and leadership by engaging in continuous professional learning to impact instruction and student learning.
