Job summary

Universal Health Services in California seeks a Licensed Engineer to perform preventive maintenance on hospital facilities and equipment. Under general supervision, you will repair, alter, and modify buildings, mechanical systems, and related infrastructure in a busy healthcare environment.

The role requires multiple licenses or 10 years of experience in trades, strong reading of schematics, and proficiency in building automation, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience as a plant operator; acute hospital setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associates of Arts degree in Engineering or technical disciplines in Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, controls, and building automation maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical manuals.
• Light locksmith skills.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
• Steam Engineer License, Electrician License, Journeyman or certification in a specific trade (Boiler, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrician, Plumbing) OR 10 years minimum experience.
• EPA required.
• Valid CA Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the Licensed Engineer performs routine or skilled preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration, and modification of buildings, equipment, and facilities.
