Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX, is seeking a motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to provide individualized care that restores mobility and independence. You will work under the supervision of PTs, with a caseload focused on patient outcomes, and will benefit from educational support and scheduling flexibility.

  • Associate degree from therapy program.
  • Experience in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to work weekends and some holidays.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility
  • Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function
  • Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care
  • Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs
  • Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (LPTA) Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Texas is required
  • Associate Degree from a therapy program is required as a minimum
  • Experience in an acute care setting is required
  • Must be able to work weekends and occasional holidays
