Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) in Houston to deliver individualized care that restores mobility and independence. You’ll work with PTs, nurses, and support teams in a patient-centered environment with opportunities for education and growth.

You’ll support a flexible schedule with a focus on quality outcomes, patient education, and collaborative care within a leading orthopedic specialty hospital.

Qualifications

  • BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Texas is required.
  • An associate degree from an accredited therapy program is required.
  • 1–2 years of experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts per 4 week rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
  • Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
  • Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care.
  • Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
  • Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist, or (LPTA) Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Texas is required
  • A minimum of an associated degree from an accredited therapy program is required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience required
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts per 4 week rotation
