Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join the team in Sanford, NC. The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to help patients develop, recover, and maintain mobility through supervised treatment plans.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, communicating with the supervising PT, educating patients and families, and assisting with discharge planning; BLS certification is required and independent work capability is

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; graduate of a PTA program.
  • Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Kentucky (KY).
  • BLS certification standard for healthcare professionals.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

How You Will Contribute

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Assists with patient discharge planning.
  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
What We Are Looking For
  • Associate's degree Required, Graduate of a Program in Discipline
  • Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
