Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Delray Medical Center is seeking a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant for a per diem role in Florida. The incumbent provides direct patient treatment under supervision, following the plan of care and hospital policies to support effective outcomes.

Required Florida PTA license and current AHA BLS CPR. Experience is optional, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, HIPAA compliance, and professional communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Florida license as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the Agency of Health Care Administration’s Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
• Current AHA BLS CPR certification.
• Experience desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
• Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for all information communicated at meetings.
• Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
• Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Adheres to the following environmental care standards.
• Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age‑specific patient populations
• Complies with all policies & procedures for this position that pertain to HIPAA.

Education

Associate's Degree in Science or other education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Physical Therapy Assistant licensure.

The Staff Physical Therapy Assistant is a licensed practitioner who provides direct patient treatment services as delegated and supervised by the Physical Therapist. He/she carries out treatment program according to the plan of care in accordance with the facilities policies and procedures related to care and treatment of the patient; treats patients in order to produce effective outcomes; communicates and assists in resolving problems; demonstrates effective resource utilization that is critical to operational stability within the organization and participates in performance improvement and program growth.
