Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will be an essential part of the rehabilitation team, working under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement, reduce pain, and restore function after injury, illness, or surgery. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Patient Care Implementation: Assist in executing treatment plans created by the physical therapist to meet patients' rehabilitation goals and functional needs.
2. Therapeutic Exercises and Activities: Lead patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve their physical function and recovery. Educate patients on proper techniques, monitor progress, and provide feedback for safe and effective participation.
3. Modalities and Physical Agents: Properly apply treatment modalities, monitor patient responses, and adjust parameters as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
4. Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on injury prevention, proper body mechanics, and pain management techniques.
5. Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track patient responses to treatments, document progress, and communicate regularly with the supervising physical therapist to update and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current license or certification in the state of practice
