Responsibilities

As a PTA, you work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover movement, reduce pain, and regain function after injury, illness, or surgery. Your key responsibilities include:

• Implementing treatment plans developed by the physical therapist.
• Leading patients through prescribed exercises and activities, instructing on proper techniques, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
• Applying treatment modalities correctly, monitoring responses, and adjusting as needed.
• Educating patients and families on injury prevention, body mechanics, and pain management.
• Monitoring patient progress, documenting changes, and communicating with the supervising therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current license/certification in the state of practice
