Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Reports To:

Rehab Director, EDO

Summary:

Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides treatment to help patients regain mobility, increase strength, and reduce pain, along with clerical duties.

Qualifications:

Must have an Associate's Degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program, current state license/registration, and the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Provide daily care and guide patients through prescribed exercises.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities as prescribed.
  • Assist with gait training and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Observe and document patient responses, seek assistance when needed.
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment.
  • Participate in team meetings, promote safety, and adhere to policies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and communication.
  • Support infection control and participate in ongoing training.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform transfers, reposition patients, and perform repetitive upper extremity movements.

Work Environment:

May involve exposure to unsanitary conditions and high-crime areas, with accommodations available for disabilities.
