Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement, reduce pain, and restore function after injury, illness, or surgery.
• Lead patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities, instruct on proper techniques, monitor progress, and ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Apply treatment modalities and physical agents appropriately, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments as needed.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, proper body mechanics, and pain management strategies.
• Monitor and document patient progress, communicate updates to supervising therapists, and collaborate on treatment adjustments.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current license/certification in the state of practice
