Job summary

SpecialtyRx, a Long-Term Care pharmacy, is seeking a pharmacist to join our Georgia team in Sandy Springs. You will evaluate orders, ensure proper dispensing, and collaborate with physicians and facility staff to optimize therapy for residents.

The role requires Georgia pharmacist licensure, LTC experience preferred, and strong analytical and communication skills. On-call duties and strict medication security are part of the responsibilities, with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Active Georgia pharmacist license required.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital or retail pharmacy helpful.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills; ECM software knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure medicines are properly dispensed, supplied, and labeled.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when needed.
• Maintain patient and facility databases with medical history and lab data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with nursing staff and physicians about medication issues.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Maintain register of controlled drugs for security and stock control.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform on-call duties as required.
