Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Part-Time Optical Assistant to greet customers, take measurements, and assist with custom-fit glasses. You will guide patients through frame selection, ensure accuracy in prescription placement, and support the team with product knowledge during high-volume periods.

Role Details

Position: Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers and set expectations with them
• Custom‑fit glasses and place prescription in the lenses accurately
• Act as a leader in optical acumen
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail to ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions
• Use technology accurately and thoroughly under time pressure and high customer volume, with exceptional product knowledge and appropriate tools
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, think forward, and ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded in a solution‑driven manner
• Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies
• Take pride in store appearance, helping to keep the store clean, attractive, and organized
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices
• Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and eager for continual learning, improvement, and results
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management

Basic Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• State licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Strong basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet
• Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
• Embrace new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience
