Licensed Optician Role

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Creates exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted, high‑quality eyewear which exceeds our customers' expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers and set expectations with them.
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical acumen.
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Accurately and thoroughly use technology despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and using appropriate tools.
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, think forward, and ensure customers are satisfied and expectations exceeded, being solution‑driven.
• Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
• Take pride in store appearance, helping to keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and desire continual learning, improvement, and results.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Basic Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first‑class total rewards package.
