Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Optician (or LDO) at our Surprise, AZ location to assist patients in selecting eyewear, taking measurements, and ensuring proper fit and care. You will interpret prescriptions, coordinate with prescribing physicians, and order eyewear from laboratories.

The role emphasizes customer service, precision, and teamwork in a fast-paced practice. LDO certification or ABO/NCLE is required or expected within 6 months; Monday–Friday schedule; competitive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) required.
• ABO and NCLE certifications required or will be pursued within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Schedule Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear to patient using appropriate tools and instructs on cleaning and handling.
• Makes any necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.

Overview

As an Optician, customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience.We are open to hiring an Optician OR an LDO for this location.

• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Schedule working Monday-Friday
