Qualifications

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Welcome all customers, set expectations with customers
  • Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen
  • Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
  • Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
  • Accurately and thoroughly use technology despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and the use of appropriate tools
  • Be proactive, explore root cause of issues, forward‑thinking, ensuring customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, solution driven
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
  • Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies
  • Take pride in store appearance and help keep store clean, attractive and organized
  • Inform management of safety opportunities; demonstrate safe work practices
  • Be resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management
Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State licensure
  • Optical dispensing experience
  • Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Awareness of current fashion trends
  • Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet
  • Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators
  • Embrace new technology and change
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service and retail experience

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
