Job summary

LensCrafters in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Licensed Optician to deliver legendary customer service and precisely fit eyewear to meet each customer's needs.

You will take measurements, enter prescriptions, and use iPad tools to help customers choose lenses and frames while maintaining high store standards and accurate records.

Qualifications

• State licensure required.
• Optical dispensing experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills (communication, listening, teamwork).
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers, set expectations with customers
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
• Act as a leader in optical acumen
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
• Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
• Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; possess exceptional product knowledge and use appropriate tools
• Be proactive, explore root causes of issues, forward‑thinking, ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, solution‑driven
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies
• Take pride in store appearance, help keep the store clean, attractive and organized
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices
• Be resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management

Basic Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• State licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Strong basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPAD/tablet
• Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators
• Embrace new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience

Pay Range: 25.02–39.02
