Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Marcum & Wallace Hospital to enhance patients’ ability to perform daily tasks and work-related activities. The role involves evaluating patients, planning treatment, and documenting progress across outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings.

Responsibilities include reviewing referrals, creating personalized therapy plans, administering treatments, educating patients and families, and collaborating with care teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review physician referrals and patient medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct and document patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatment plans according to department protocols.
• Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments and create custom equipment for individual needs.
• Develop programs focusing on functional skills, vocational training, daily activities, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment goals and plans as necessary, participating in patient care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.
