Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to support the design and delivery of building systems on a variety of construction projects. You will develop coordinated MEP solutions that meet project requirements, codes, and performance expectations while collaborating with architects, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, practical design experience, and excellent communication skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Professional experience designing MEP systems for building or construction projects.
• Active engineering license or the ability to obtain licensure.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering calculation software.
• Understanding of construction documents, building codes, permitting requirements, and industry standards.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and analyze complex building systems.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial building projects.
• Prepare engineering plans, technical specifications, calculations, and supporting documentation.
• Develop and review construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and related design platforms.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Confirm that proposed systems comply with building codes, safety requirements, and accepted engineering practices.
• Review equipment selections, system layouts, and technical submittals.
• Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and monitor installation progress.
• Identify design conflicts and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Respond to contractor questions and support projects during permitting and construction.
• Review proposed changes to plans, specifications, and engineering standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
