Job description

Licensed Mental Health Therapist - First Responder Program (North Carolina)

Join us as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist - First Responder Program (North Carolina) at MindGlow Health.

Position Details: North Carolina Licensed | Telehealth | Contractor | Part-Time | Remote

About MindGlow Health

MindGlow Health provides high-quality online behavioral healthcare, including virtual therapy and psychiatric care, via our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Originating from FHE Health, a nationally recognized provider with nearly two decades of experience supporting first responders through the Shatterproof program, we now extend this trusted care to a virtual setting, ensuring continuity of care for first responders transitioning from inpatient to outpatient services.

As a preferred aftercare provider for FHE Health, we collaborate closely with their discharge team to support first responders' recovery. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed and culturally competent care to help clients navigate the emotional challenges of their roles, manage trauma, and improve overall wellness.

Role Overview

We seek a compassionate, licensed North Carolina Mental Health Therapist to join our First Responder Program. This is a flexible, part-time, fully remote contract role focused on delivering virtual care to first responders, including police, firefighters, EMS, corrections, and veterans. You will provide trauma-informed therapy tailored to their unique needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and support their mental health and resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide virtual therapy addressing trauma, PTSD, burnout, and emotional fatigue.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches.
  • Assist clients with emotional regulation, sleep hygiene, and boundary setting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Uphold a compassionate, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
  • Active, independent clinical license in North Carolina (e.g., LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW).
  • Minimum three years of experience working with first responders, trauma survivors, or in high-stress emergency response roles.
  • Willingness to complete MindGlow Heroes First Responder Clinician Training.
  • Active NPI number; Medicare enrollment preferred.
  • Eligibility for federally funded healthcare programs as per OIG requirements.
  • Proficiency with telehealth technology and EHR systems.
  • Private, HIPAA-compliant space for conducting sessions.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and familiarity with platforms like Zoom.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
  • Commitment to MindGlow Health’s core values: Lead Bravely, Inspire with Hope, Act with Integrity, Live Compassionately, Seek First to Understand, and Value Every Voice.
Benefits
  • Remote telehealth position with flexible scheduling.
  • Paid orientation, training, and administrative hours.
  • Support services including billing, credentialing, and referrals.
  • Schedule autonomy to suit your lifestyle.
  • Paid malpractice insurance, including tail coverage.
  • Continuing education with CEUs provided.
  • Biweekly payments, including coverage for no-shows and claim denials.
  • Overhead and marketing handled by us to help grow your practice.

MindGlow Health is committed to diversity and inclusion. We are an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
