Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth and culturally responsive mental health assessments that inform individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other modalities, with consideration of the client’s cultural background.
• Provide diverse therapy options including individual, family, and group sessions focusing on overcoming mental health challenges and fostering resilience.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other professionals to ensure that patients receive holistic and coordinated care.
• Offer timely crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, providing support and strategies to stabilize individuals in distress.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, available treatments, and community resources to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
• Actively engage in team meetings, contributing to case conferences and participating in ongoing cultural competency training.
• Stay current with mental health research, best practices, and cultural considerations by pursuing continuing education opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, encompassing individuals from various cultural backgrounds, including marginalized communities and those facing unique life challenges. As a therapist, you will engage with clients who may have experienced trauma, discrimination, or social inequities, providing them with empathetic care and targeted support tailored to their specific experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• A current and valid professional license as an LMFT, LPC, LPC/MHSP, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders and the application of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy with a history of using culturally responsive techniques.
• Demonstrated strengths in crisis intervention and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport across diverse populations.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and adeptness with various computer applications to optimize workflow.
• A commitment to ethical practice, respecting patient confidentiality and professional integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to team dynamics and patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in outpatient settings or community health clinics, particularly with multicultural populations.
• Proven record of conducting workshops or educational sessions on mental health topics.
• Engagement in leadership roles or mentoring early-career clinicians in culturally competent practices.
