Job summary

Columbia Post Acute is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist with medication administration for residents in a Missouri facility. You will work under the direction of nursing leadership and physicians to ensure safe, accurate delivery of prescribed medications in accordance with state guidelines.

The role emphasizes adherence to procedures, documentation, and collaboration with nurses, pharmacists and medical staff to maintain high standards of resident care.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Medication Aide having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with state laws.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors and improve medication safety.
• Complete required forms, charts and reports and submit them as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, the Medical Director and pharmacists.
• Report complaints or grievances to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in facility surveys and Quality Assurance programs related to medications.
• Accurately prepare, administer and document medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are examined by the attending physician or facility pharmacist.
