Chehalem Post Acute is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician and nursing supervision. You will follow policies, document processes, and participate in quality assurance activities to improve accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities include accurate medication preparation, labeling, charting, and reporting of any errors. Strong communication with nursing staff and physicians is essential, as is adherence to state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed Medication Aide with state-approved training and examination.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures.
  • Ability to present information to managers and employees.
  • Mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios.
  • Reasoning ability to solve practical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Follow facility policies and procedures governing the administering of medications to residents.
  • Accurately prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications.
  • Verify medications with attending physician or facility pharmacist.
  • Document and report medication errors or adverse reactions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff and physicians.
  • Participate in QA programs and medication safety initiatives.
  • Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports as required.
  • Notify supervisor of any medication-related issues or transfers.
  • Ensure proper labeling and charting of medications.
  • Assist in medication receipt error handling and reporting.
