Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Licensed Social Worker to join the Social Work Department. The role involves psychosocial assessment, direct treatment, case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with the care team to support patients and families in a hospital setting.

Required credentials include a Master’s in Social Work and an LSW license (within 1 year). Evening/weekend shifts may be required; BLS/CPR certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license to be obtained within one year from date of hire.
• One to two years prior experience in psychiatric social work or comparable setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• BLS Certification preferred; Heartsaver/CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform screenings, intake assessments and consultations for evaluation of individual and family dynamics.
• Provide direct treatment services including individual, family, and group counseling and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate discharge planning and linkages to community resources.
• Serve as liaison to health care team on social work issues and provide case management.
• Maintain case recordings, documentation, and reporting in a timely manner.
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and education programs.
