Job summary

McAllister Towing seeks a Licensed Engineer to join the crew aboard the Jackie F McAllister. The role focuses on the operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, ensuring safe, efficient propulsion, electrical and hydraulic systems, and adherence to the company safety and environmental standards.

The engineer will report to the vessel captain, maintain logs, and support readiness for all on-board tasks, with emphasis on reliability and uptime in a demanding harbor environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Merchant Mariner’s Credential is required.
  • Valid TWIC Card required for access to port facilities.
  • Engineering license must be current and valid.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on board.
  • Keep Captain apprised of issues or relief needs.
  • Oversee machinery plant including engines, propulsion, and auxiliary systems.
  • Manage electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, and deck equipment.
  • Log daily engine activity and ensure compliance with Safety/Environmental manuals.
