Job summary

Portland Tugboat, operating in the Portland Harbor area, is seeking a Licensed Engineer to join the crew aboard the Jackie F McAllister. The role covers operation and maintenance of the vessel’s mechanical systems, with daily engine logs and adherence to safety and environmental policies.

The ideal candidate holds a Valid Merchant Mariner’s Credential, a valid TWIC Card, and an Engineering License, and must pass pre-employment drug testing and a medical exam.

Qualifications

• Valid Merchant Mariner’s Credential required.
• Valid TWIC Card required.
• Valid Engineering License required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all mechanical equipment on the vessel’s Engineering Department.
• Keep Captain apprised of issues and relievers.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in the Operations Manual.
• Oversee procurement and transfer of potable water, ballast water, fuel, lube oil and related logs.
