Job summary

McAllister Towing of Virginia is seeking a Licensed Engineer to join our vessel engineering team. The Licensed Engineer will be responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment aboard the vessel, reporting issues to the Port Engineer, and ensuring reliability of propulsion and auxiliary systems.

The role requires a valid MMC, TWIC, and Engineering License, plus the ability to pass pre-employment drug tests and physicals.

Qualifications

  • Valid MMC (Merchant Mariner Credential) is required.
  • Valid TWIC Card is required.
  • Valid Engineering License is required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment on the vessel.
  • Ensure compliance with the quality, safety, and environmental management system per McAllister Operations Manual.
  • Supervise procurement, loading, use and transfer of potable water, ballast water, fuel oil, lube oil, ensuring quality and proper entries in logs and certificates.
  • Repair all machinery and equipment onboard within capacity and complete the daily engine log.
