Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is hiring an Originator to support consumer and residential lending at an established credit union in Ludlow, MA. You will assess loan opportunities, interview members, and maintain strong referral networks with realtors and developers.

Responsibilities include processing applications, reviewing documentation, and advising members on suitable mortgage products while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Three years of related experience and/or training.
• Understanding of legal and regulatory lending requirements and loan documentation.
• Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices.
• Understanding of creditworthiness evaluation principles.

Responsibilities

• Process consumer loan applications from initial interview through decisioning.
• Gather and review loan documentation and supporting information.
• Evaluate creditworthiness, income, employment, collateral, and debt ratios.
• Approve loans within established authority limits.
• Present loan requests that exceed lending authority for approval.
• Originate mortgage, home equity, HELOC, construction, bridge, and related lending products.
• Conduct prequalification interviews and prepare complete loan packages.
• Advise members on mortgage products that align with their needs.
• Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and members.
• Explain loan decisions, policies, rates, and lending alternatives to members.
• Ensure lending activity complies with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
• Cross sell credit union services and lending related products.
• Coordinate with internal departments and assist lending team members as needed.
