Knight Electric, Inc. in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking a Journeyman Electrician / Field Specialist to perform commercial electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and small projects across occupied facilities. A valid Journeyman license and strong diagnostic skills are required.

You will lead 1–4 electricians on projects, with travel to the Southeast US. Company vehicle, housing (Airbnb), per diem, and travel expenses are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in a commercial service role.
• Expert-level troubleshooting in a commercial setting.
• Ability to run and lead small projects (1-4 electricians).
• Active Journeyman electrical license or higher.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with commercial building systems including lighting controls, switchgear, distribution equipment.
• Apply NEC knowledge and perform NEC calculations.
• Execute conduit bends and install raceways, boxes, cables, panels, breakers, and transformers.
• Assist with wire pulling and switchboard installation.
• Install light fixtures, devices and cover plates; connect branch circuits.
• Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Maintain knowledge of control systems and components; perform related duties.

About This Role

The Journeyman Electrician / Field Specialist performs commercial electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and small‑project installations across a variety of commercial facilities. This role requires a valid Journeyman Electrician License and strong technical skill in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in active, occupied buildings.

Compensation

• $33.00 - $40.00 per hour pending experience and active state electrical license.

Travel

• On average 2–3-week sprints in the Southeast US.
• Most projects are in Georgia and the Southeast US.
• Housing (Airbnb) is paid by company, travel to and from project is covered as well as per diem.

Duties / Expectations

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with commercial building systems, including lighting controls, switchgear, and distribution equipment
• Apply advanced knowledge of electrical theory and NEC code
• Perform NEC calculations
• Execute all types of conduit bends using various bender types
• Install raceways, boxes, cables, panels, breakers, and transformers
• Assist with wire pulling and switchboard installation
• Install light fixtures, devices, and cover plates
• Connect branch circuits including terminations and equipment
• Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Maintain basic knowledge of control systems and components
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Working Conditions

Work is performed on construction sites in a variety of weather conditions. Travel nationwide, up to 100%, sometimes with short notice (non-travelling short-term jobs are available from time to time depending on project availability). Shifts and hours vary by project but will include night and weekend shifts.
