Job summary

Knight Electric, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician / Field Specialist for commercial service work across the Southeast US, including Georgia. The role requires an active Journeyman license and strong diagnostic skills to support active, occupied buildings.

Compensation ranges $33.00–$40.00 per hour, with travel expenses paid and a company vehicle and fuel card provided. Housing and per diem accommodations are included for travel, with weekly pay and overtime potential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial service role.
• Must have an active state Journeyman electrical license or higher.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to run and lead small projects (1-4 electricians).
• Criminal and motor vehicle background check required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in commercial facilities.
• Work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Install raceways, boxes, cables, panels, breakers, and transformers.
• Assist with wire pulling and switchboard installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Perform NEC calculations and conduit bending.
• Install light fixtures, devices, and cover plates; connect branch circuits.
• Perform basic testing of electrical systems and ensure quality control.

About this role:

The Journeyman Electrician / Field Specialist performs commercial electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and small-project installations across a variety of commercial facilities. This role requires a valid Journeyman Electrician License and strong technical skill in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in active, occupied buildings.

Compensation:

• $33.00 - $40.00 per hour pending experience and active state electrical license.
• Travel expenses paid
• Vehicle provided
• Fuel card

Travel:

• On average 2-3-week sprints in the Southeast US.
• Most projects are in Georgia and the Southeast US.
• Housing (Airbnb) is paid by company, travel to and from project is covered as well as per diem.

Duties / Expectations:

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with commercial building systems, including lighting controls, switchgear, and distribution equipment
• Apply advanced knowledge of electrical theory and NEC code
• Perform NEC calculations
• Execute all types of conduit bends using various bender types
• Install raceways, boxes, cables, panels, breakers, and transformers
• Assist with wire pulling and switchboard installation
• Install light fixtures, devices, and cover plates
• Connect branch circuits including terminations and equipment
• Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Maintain basic knowledge of control systems and components
• Perform other related duties as assigned

This is a field job using many physical attributes. In addition to sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, employees should be able to do the following:

• Regularly work from elevated spaces for extended periods of time, including ladders, man lifts, scaffolding, or reach booms. Climb ladder with 30 pounds.

• Reach, handle, grasp, and pull cables, wires, tools, and equipment.

• Speaking, hearing and seeing for communicating with employees and outside resources, as well as managing risks of a construction environment is required.
