Job summary

Superior EMP is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician for on-site commercial projects across California, including overnight shifts and occasional travel. You will install conduit, wiring, and control systems, read blueprints, and coordinate with foremen and other trades to ensure on-time completion.

The role requires a valid CA Journeyman Electrician License, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort with inclement conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid California Journeyman Electrician License issued by the DIR.
• Willingness to travel for extended assignments as needed.
• Comfortable with overnight shifts and third shifts when required.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure conduit and cabling including EMT, PVC, MC, flexible conduit, CAT5/6, RMC, Romex.
• Install wiring, raceways, junction boxes, and electrical components per specs and codes.
• Pull, feed, and terminate conductors in panels, switchgear, transformers, and control equipment.
• Build, install, and troubleshoot control panels and related systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical installation issues and system malfunctions.
• Perform refrigeration and/or HVAC motor control wiring (preferred).
• Assist with or perform Ansul system installations (preferred).
• Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate installation.
• Coordinate with foremen and other trades to stay on schedule.
• May perform other jobsite duties as assigned by the foreman.

Schedule

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure various types of conduit and cabling, including EMT, PVC, MC cable, flexible conduit, CAT5/6, RMC, and Romex
• Install wiring, raceways, junction boxes, and electrical components in accordance with project specifications and applicable electrical codes
• Pull, feed, and terminate conductors in panels, switchgear, transformers, distribution systems, and control equipment
• Build, install, and troubleshoot control panels and related systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical installation issues and system malfunctions
• Perform refrigeration and/or HVAC motor control wiring (preferred)
• Assist with or perform Ansul system installations (preferred)
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate installation
• Coordinate with foremen and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
• May perform other jobsite related duties assigned by the foreman

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Electrician License issued by the DIR
• Ability to commute to various jobsites
• Availability to work third shifts or overnight schedules as needed
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, walking, squatting, and ascending or descending stairs
• Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights (including lifts), and in inclement weather
