Job summary

Del Mar College seeks a Licensed Health Care Instructor to lead classroom and clinical training, guiding students toward state and national certifications. The role includes supervision in lab and clinical settings, coordinating scheduling, and maintaining records across multiple training sites.

The instructor will work under NATCEP leadership within the Continuing Education department, ensuring compliance, training effectiveness, and timely completion of program requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year long-term care facility experience.
• Licensed in the State of Texas as LVN or RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and clinical training to health care students leading up to certification for adult and high school students at Del Mar College campuses and centers, including off-campus training locations throughout the Coastal Bend and surrounding areas.
• Supervise students in a classroom and lab clinical setting.
• Assist with registration and the collection of all documentation for high school and adult students.
• Coordinate class scheduling, clinical site assignments, assist with inventory for labs and other related duties as assigned by the NATCEP director, assistant Director and Program Manager.
• Prepare health care labs at the beginning of the new academic year including assisting administration with the supply lists and equipment orders.
• Close out health care labs at the conclusion of the academic year.
• Assist with ordering new equipment and supplies for the Center for Economic Development Center, Oso Creek and Windward campuses, before the conclusion of the budget year.
• Assist with creating new health care workforce programs for the Continuing Education department to include both high school and adult programs, as needed.
• Participate in teacher prep days before the new academic year begins.
• Attend trainings and professional development sessions to review skills, receive updates for the program and on classroom management

Education

Nursing (Associates or Bachelors)

High school diploma or equivalent

Licensed in Texas as LVN or RN
