Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Scheduled Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Shift: 1 - Day Shift, 8 Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. Works from blueprints, sketches, and wiring diagrams, utilizing voltmeters, meggers, ampmeters, leakage test recorders, and other equipment to maintain electrical systems and equipment on a regular schedule, following hospital policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain all electrical motors and systems, including motors, auto/manual starters, and control system components. Inspect and test electrical equipment such as heating and cooling pumps, critical systems, generators, fire alarms, building egress, air handling, air conditioning systems, exhaust systems, and vacuum pumps. Perform cleaning, tightening, and replacement of worn parts. Check voltage, load, and insulation of power distribution systems up to 480 volts, single and 3 phase. Assist with electrical maintenance and repair. Exercise and test emergency power generating and switching equipment.
  2. Maintain records of all work performed, including work logs, work slips, preventive maintenance history, and testing schedules. Order and maintain supplies. Apply for and maintain electrical permits as required.
  3. Ensure a clean and safe work environment, proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies. Adhere to safety standards, procedures, and regulations. Install new power distribution systems, panel boards, outlet boxes, junction boxes, cables, conduit, and lighting.
  4. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  5. Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
Position Qualifications:

Broad training in the electrical field, requiring advanced shop mathematics, and the use of complicated drawings, specifications, and precision measuring instruments. An electrician license is required. Basic computer skills are helpful. Typically, 1-3 years of experience are required.
