Responsibilities

Responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. Works from blueprints, sketches, and wiring diagrams, using voltmeters, meggars, ampmeters, leakage test recorders, and other equipment to maintain electrical systems and equipment according to hospital policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Electrical Maintenance: Maintain all electrical motors and systems, including motors, starters, control system components, heating and cooling pumps, critical systems, generators, fire alarms, building egress, air handling, and vacuum pumps. Inspect, test, replace worn parts, and check voltage and insulation.
  2. Record Keeping: Maintain all work logs, preventive maintenance records, testing schedules, and order supplies. Apply for and maintain electrical permits as required.
  3. Work Area Safety and Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and safe, care for tools and equipment, and adhere to safety standards. Install new power distribution systems, panel boards, outlets, junction boxes, cables, conduit, and lighting.
  4. Policy Compliance: Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  5. Meetings and Seminars: Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars.
Position Qualifications

Broad training in the electrical field, requiring advanced shop mathematics, use of complicated drawings, specifications, and precision measuring instruments. An electrician license is required. Basic computer skills are helpful. One to three years of experience preferred.
