Job summary

The State Public Works Division (SPWD) in Las Vegas seeks a licensed electrical engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of capital improvement projects across Nevada, overseeing design, budgets, contracts, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage all phases of project delivery, review plans and cost estimates, coordinate bid openings, and provide electrical design services for in‑house projects while ensuring safe, efficient state facilities and credible peer reviews of contracted firms.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrical engineer required at appointment; Nevada licensure within 12 months.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional electrical engineering experience on major capital projects.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and administration of capital improvement and construction projects.
• Review plans, specs, estimates, and contract documents for code compliance.
• Coordinate bid processes, change orders, and project budgets.
• Provide electrical design services for in-house projects and peer review of designers.
