Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking a Licensed Dispensing Optician in Ohio to analyze prescriptions and guide patients through eyewear choices, ensuring top-quality vision care. The role includes fitting, measuring, adjusting, and overseeing all prescriptions throughout the office.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of eyewear experience and state licensure. You will promote sales, explain insurance benefits, and educate patients on new lenses, while maintaining accurate delivery timelines and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be State Board Certified Licensed Dispensing Optician.
• AA or BA/BS in related field is desirable.
• 2-5 years of eyewear experience in a similar office.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with exceptional customer service by understanding and assisting the patient’s needs.
• Guide and assist patients in eyewear and frame/lens selection, using knowledge of product lines to educate patient.
• Converse with patients to analyze and assess vision problems and needs.
• Provide oversight on all prescriptions throughout the office.
• Maximize sales using the company’s best, better, good sales concept and promotions.
• Maximize insurance plans for patients and explain benefits.
• Understand cost of goods and retail fees; help prevent “walking Rx.”
• Educate patients on adaptation of new Rx’s and care of lenses.
• Use pupillometer, PD ruler and other technical aids for proper fit and measurements.
