Responsibilities

Licensed Dietitian opportunity is part-time and offers daytime hours.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing comprehensive inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, with an experienced senior management team, serving New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary

In this rewarding role, you will assess the nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans and education tailored to patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical records and conduct face-to-face interviews with hospitalized patients using specialized knowledge and skills.
• Document findings, actions, and assessments, and follow up on diet instructions and patient understanding in the DCH electronic medical record system.
• Educate and counsel patients of all ages, including caregivers, on dietary modifications required for recovery.
• Review and adjust patient room service meal selections as needed, communicating with Food and Nutrition Departments and healthcare providers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds.
• Provide information to the medical team, including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and pharmacists.
• Be available to perform assessments and document individualized care plans remotely during off-hours.
