Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to join a review company in New York, NY as a Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator. This contract/travel role focuses on regulatory compliance through inspections, investigations, and surveillance activities in long-term care settings.

Requirements

• Active NYS Registered Dietitian license
• Graduate of a Registered Professional Dietitian program
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a medical facility, preferably in a nursing home
• Experience in nursing home surveillance activities (preferred)
• SMQT certification is preferred; must be obtained within 12 months of employment
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to assigned locations

Compensation and Benefits

• $39 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and complaint investigations, including cases involving allegations of abuse or neglect
• Perform surveillance tasks to determine facility compliance with federal and state long-term care regulations
• Draft accurate and timely Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) following established documentation principles
• Review and evaluate facility Plans of Correction
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate data entry in required databases
• Attend necessary meetings and testify at administrative hearings as required
• Follow Department of Health (DOH) work schedules, policies, and procedures
• Travel to on-site facilities as assigned
