Job summary

Smile Orthodontics is seeking a Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) to join our on-site Minnesota team. The role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care, assisting clinicians, and maintaining a welcoming clinical environment.

Ideal candidates are positive, team-oriented, and eager to grow in orthodontics. We offer a supportive, people-first culture with opportunities for development and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Licensed Dental Assistant with current Minnesota license.
• Willing to train for orthodontics.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding clinical care and create a welcoming experience for patients.
• Assist Doctors with exams, procedures, and treatment appointments.
• Take digital scans, X-rays, photographs, and other diagnostic records.
• Assist with placing and removing orthodontic appliances, brackets, wires, and other components.
• Educate patients and families on orthodontic treatment and appliance care.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
• Support Doctors and clinical team to ensure appointments run smoothly.
• Continue developing clinical skills through training and CE.

What You’ll Do

• Provide outstanding clinical care and create a welcoming experience for our Patients
• Assist our Doctors with exams, procedures, and treatment appointments
• Take digital scans, X-rays, photographs, and other diagnostic records
• Assist with placing and removing orthodontic appliances, brackets, wires, and other treatment components
• Educate Patients and families on orthodontic treatment, oral hygiene, and appliance care
• Provide clear instructions and encouragement throughout the patient’s orthodontic journey
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully prepared clinical environment
• Follow OSHA, infection control, and clinical protocols
• Work closely with the Doctors and clinical team to ensure appointments run smoothly
• Support and encourage your fellow Partners while contributing to a positive team environment
• Continue developing your clinical skills through training and continuing education

• Dependable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed
• A desire to learn, grow, and continue developing your orthodontic skills
• Previous orthodontic experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person!
