Job summary

Smile Doctors in Austin, TX seeks an Orthodontic Clinician to join our growing team and help create a positive clinical experience for every patient under the direction of an Orthodontist, compliant with state laws and company policies.

You will assist with placing/removing appliances, monitor remote scans, educate patients about care and remote monitoring, and maintain infection-control standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Dental Assistant certification is required or preferred by state boards.
• Radiography certification may be required by the state board.
• CPR certification may be required by the state board.

Responsibilities

• Assist with placing and removing orthodontic appliances under supervision.
• Review patient charts and transcribe notes.
• Perform laboratory procedures under supervision.
• Monitor remote-monitoring dashboard and triage patient scans.
• Educate patients about orthodontic care and remote monitoring.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and operatories.

You’ll help create a positive clinical experience for every patient while following company policies and applicable state dental laws, rules, and regulations under the direction and close supervision of an Orthodontist.

How you’ll make us better

• Assist with placing and removing orthodontic appliances under the Orthodontist’s close supervision.
• Review patient charts, record appropriate patient information, and transcribe doctor notes.
• Perform laboratory procedures under the Orthodontist’s close supervision.
• Monitor the remote-monitoring dashboard by reviewing and triaging patient scans, responding to direct messages, and addressing notifications.
• Educate patients about orthodontic care and remote monitoring.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and operatories according to standard protocols.
• Follow all infection-control policies and procedures.
