Job summary

Smile Doctors is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team. You will deliver positive clinical experiences to patients under the orthodontist’s supervision, while adhering to policies and state dental laws.

The role emphasizes remote monitoring reviews, patient education, and meticulous chairside support. Ideal candidates have high school credentials, dental certifications as required by state boards, and comfort working in a fast-paced dental office.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant dental certifications as required by state boards.
• Experience with radiography and CPR may be required or preferred by the state dental board.
• Strong patient interaction skills and ability to multitask in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances under close supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review patient charts, log data, and transcribe doctor notes accurately.
• Perform laboratory procedures under supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review remote monitoring dashboard, triage patient scans, and respond to messages.
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring procedures.
• Prepare and maintain sterile equipment and operatory per protocols.
• Follow infection-control policies and safety guidelines.

Responsible for delivering positive clinical experience to all patients while following strict adherence to company policies as well as state dental laws, rules and regulations under the direction and close supervision of an Orthodontist.

How you’ll make us better:

• Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances under close supervision of the Orthodontist
• Review patient charts, log appropriate patient data and transcribe doctor notes
• Perform laboratory procedures under close supervision of the Orthodontist
• Review remote monitoring dashboard including review/triage patient scans, responding to direct patient messages, and triage notifications
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment and operatory following standard protocols
• Adhere to all infection-control policies and protocols
