Job summary

Community Health Alliance - Transitional Living, TLC is seeking a Licensed Counselor or Social Worker (LCDC II/III, LSW, LPC, LICDC, LISW or LPCC) to provide behavioral health counseling in a residential substance treatment facility.

You will join an evidence-based, multidisciplinary team, offering individual, group, and family therapy, trauma-informed care, and coordination of care with medical and psychiatry staff while supporting recovery and client goals.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in Ohio – LCDC II/III, LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree with LPC or LSW licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of DSM and ASAM criteria.
• Experience with diagnostic assessments and CBT modalities.
• Harm reduction philosophy and support for medication-assisted treatment.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual, group, and family therapy in a residential setting.
• Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and implements evidence-based interventions.
• Maintains accurate documentation compliant with standards.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including medical, psychiatry, case management, and peer recovery services.
• Uses trauma-informed, person-centered approaches to client care.
• Facilitates group therapy with evidence-based curricula.
• Develops client-centered treatment plans based on client needs.
• Assists clients in crisis with appropriate interventions.
• Engages family in treatment, transition and discharge planning.
• Evaluates progress and adjusts interventions as needed.
• Promotes participation in self-help and recovery groups.
• Maintains strong clinical and ethical boundaries.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides individual, group, and/or family therapy in a residential treatment setting
• Conducts comprehensive assessments, develops treatment plans and implements evidence‑based interventions
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including medical, psychiatry, case management and peer recovery services
• Utilizes a trauma‑informed, person‑centered and culturally competent approach to client care
• Facilitates group therapy utilizing evidence‑based curricula
• Develops client‑centered treatment plans based on the needs, strengths, abilities and preferences of the client
• Assists clients in crisis by evaluating and providing appropriate interventions
• Engages family and supportive others in treatment, transition and discharge planning processes
• Evaluates clients’ progress towards goals, utilizes motivational enhancement strategies and determines appropriate interventions/modalities based on the individualized needs of each client
• Promotes participation in self‑help and recovery support groups
• Maintains strong clinical and ethical boundaries with clients

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the State of Ohio – LCDC II or LCDC III, LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Service Field or equivalency.
• Bachelor or Master’s Degree with LPC or LSW Licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) and ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
• Knowledge of and experience in diagnostic assessments, cognitive behavioral therapeutic modalities and trauma‑informed care.
• Adopts a harm reduction philosophy and supports the utilization of medication‑assisted treatments as a best practice.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams.
• Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems.
