Norfolk State University in Virginia seeks a licensed mental health professional to provide counseling and outreach through the Counseling Center. The role includes individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, intake assessments, and campus-wide programming.
Responsibilities include supervising interns, 24-hour crisis coverage, staff meetings, and referrals to community providers while engaging housing, residence life, and student organizations to support distressed students.
Work requires knowledge equivalent to aMaster’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education,with a concentration in mental health, counseling, psychology,social work, or a related field. Demonstrated experience providingindividual and/or group counseling services, intake assessments,and conducting outreach programming. Must be a licensed mentalhealth professional in the state of Virginia. (LPC, LCSW, orPsychologist)
