Job Description

We're seeking a licensed clinician who combines professional excellence with genuine compassion to transform family outcomes. You'll bring advanced therapeutic skills directly into homes and communities, creating healing environments for children and families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Your clinical license is the foundation for your strengths-based approach that helps families navigate complex challenges toward reunification or permanency planning. If you thrive in dynamic settings, find fulfillment in meeting clients where they are, and believe in every family's capacity for positive change, your expertise could be the catalyst for rewriting families' stories.

About The Program

We intervene upstream by teaming up with families to stay together. Families in crisis often face stressors like poverty, but the right supports can build bridges to brighter days.

Through our Support & Stabilization program, we provide intensive in-home supports to families involved with DCF working to maintain or regain custody of their children, aiming to reduce foster care placements.

The Impact You'll Create

As a Licensed Clinician, guided by our Clinical Supervisor, you'll be central to care teams that change family trajectories. Your therapeutic expertise will empower children and families, collaborating with HopeWell's resource teams and DCF partners. You'll provide trauma-informed therapy, help rewrite narratives of pain into stories of possibility, and connect families to community resources, advocating for each child's voice and fostering family resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-person community-based clinical counseling for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Assess strengths, progress, and needs of children and families.
  • Develop treatment and safety plans with the team, outlining goals and interventions.
  • Lead the HopeWell team in creating a safe, affirming environment.
  • Maintain case files and documentation per regulations.
  • Make referrals and connect families to community resources.
  • Assist caregivers in navigating systems and accessing supports.
  • Collaborate with DCF, community organizations, and service providers.
  • Attend meetings such as Foster Care Reviews and treatment planning sessions.
  • Transport children to visits, appointments, and court as needed.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call system, including emergency responses.
  • Ensure timely processing of paperwork and expenses.
  • Attend supervision, staff meetings, and trainings.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Mid-tier license (LCSW, LSMHC) working towards independent licensure.
  • Independent license preferred.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience with children and families facing severe difficulties.
  • Valid MA Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency with email and word-processing software.
  • Ability to multitask, make decisions, and support clients clinically.
  • Empathy, flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus.
Additional Skills
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families, including navigating community supports.
  • Knowledge of child development and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with families.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Other Requirements
  • Background checks as required by law.
  • Current trainings and licensure.
  • Access to an automobile and valid driver’s license.
  • Flexibility for schedule shifts and occasional evening or weekend work.
We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Sign-on bonus and total rewards package.
  • Health, dental, vision insurance.
  • Student loan assistance and tuition reimbursement.
  • Retirement plan with 6% match.
  • Bilingual bonus of $3,500 for language skills.
  • Funding for professional development.
  • Generous paid time-off, including holidays and sick days.
