This clinician provides clinical assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for individuals and families across the lifespan in an outpatient setting.

The role emphasizes evidence-based modalities, collaboration within a multidisciplinary care model, and culturally responsive practice grounded in the Big Island community.

Qualifications

  • MSW from CSWE-accredited program is required.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Hawaii or license-eligible with ability to obtain licensure promptly is required.
  • Clinical experience providing direct therapeutic services to individuals and families is required.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities and strong diagnostic/interpersonal skills is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy to adults, couples, and families using modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, IPT, EMDR, MBCT/MBSR as clinically indicated.
  • Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support continuity of care and development of long-term therapeutic relationships within a rural, multicultural community.

The East Hawai'i Region of Hawai'i Health Systems Corporation is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our expanding behavioral health team. This position provides clinical assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for individuals and families across the lifespan, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care environment rooted in the values and needs of the Big Island community.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
    • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
    • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
    • Mindfulness-based therapies (e.g., MBCT, MBSR) and psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches, as clinically indicated.

  • Experience serving Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and multicultural populations with cultural humility and awareness
  • Familiarity with the social determinants of health as they present in rural Hawai'i
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care models adapted for culturally diverse setting
