Kentucky Licensed Mental Health Therapist — Part-Time
Help Expand Access to Mental Healthcare Across Kentucky

Backpack Healthcare is growing in Kentucky! We're looking for compassionate, dedicated therapists who want to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

We provide high-quality virtual mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults, making care more accessible to families across the state. As a clinician-led, minority-owned organization, we're committed to supporting both the families we serve and the clinicians who care for them.

If you're passionate about working with youth, value work-life balance, and want to be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

You'll provide 15–22 telehealth sessions per week, delivering individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults throughout Kentucky.

Most clinicians see clients during weekday afternoons and evenings (2:00–9:00 PM EST), with weekend availability welcomed.

You create your schedule— we provide the referrals, administrative support, billing, and credentialing.

Your day-to-day includes:
  • Conducting comprehensive behavioral health assessments
  • Developing individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Providing evidence-based individual and family therapy through secure telehealth
  • Collaborating with our interdisciplinary care team, including therapists, PMHNPs, psychiatrists, and care coordinators
  • Completing timely, accurate clinical documentation within our electronic health record (EHR)
  • Supporting families through education, collaboration, and coordinated care

We believe clinicians should have the opportunity to earn competitive compensation while maintaining the flexibility of part‑time practice.

What You'll Earn:
  • $50 per billable hour for independently licensed clinicians
  • Monthly bonus potential based on eligible clinical and performance metrics
  • Additional opportunities for professional growth and increased earning potential as Backpack continues to expand
Additional Benefits:
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Opportunities for clinical leadership and professional growth
  • Collaborative clinical support and interdisciplinary case consultation
What We're Looking For

We're seeking clinicians who have:

  • An active Kentucky independent license (LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT)
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families—or a passion for serving this population
  • The ability to work independently in a virtual environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply.

Since 2020, Backpack Healthcare has helped 12,000+ children and families receive the mental healthcare they deserve.

We're building a different kind of behavioral healthcare organization—one where clinicians can do meaningful work, maintain flexibility, collaborate with a strong clinical team, and have opportunities to grow.

We believe that when clinicians thrive, kids thrive. It's more than a mission—it's how we deliver exceptional care every day.

If you're ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of Kentucky children and families while enjoying flexible remote work, competitive compensation, monthly bonus potential, and a supportive clinical team, we'd love to hear from you.
