Backpack Healthcare is seeking a Virginia-licensed PMHNP to provide autonomous, telehealth psychiatric care for children, teens, and young adults.
Join a clinician-led, minority-owned team offering flexible part-time schedules, per-session compensation, a monthly bonus potential, and full benefits including 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision, and PTO. Telehealth-only role with afternoon/evening/weekend availability.
Remote · Virginia License Required · Independent Practice
Backpack Healthcare is looking for a Virginia-licensed PMHNP who values clinical autonomy, meaningful work, and genuine collaboration.
We provide accessible mental health care for children, teens, and young adults through telehealth. As a clinician-led, minority-owned organization, we're building a different kind of behavioral health experience - one where clinicians have the autonomy to practice at the top of their license while still having a strong team behind them.
Autonomous doesn't mean alone. You'll work alongside therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators who believe integrated care leads to better outcomes for kids and families.
Our PMHNP compensation model is designed to provide competitive per-session earnings while giving you the flexibility of part-time telehealth practice.
Current session rates:
Your schedule is yours to build, with afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required to meet families when they are most available.
You’ll provide comprehensive psychiatric care to children, teens, and young adults through telehealth, with a focus on accessible, evidence-based, family-centered treatment.
Your day-to-day will include:
Since 2020, we've served 12,000+ kids and families through accessible behavioral healthcare. 78% of families report that their child is doing better after three months.
We built Backpack because the traditional mental healthcare model wasn't working - for kids, families, or the clinicians trying to help them.
Here, clinicians have the opportunity to practice independently, collaborate meaningfully, and make a measurable difference in the lives of young people.
When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not just a tagline. It's how we build.
If you're a Virginia PMHNP looking for clinical autonomy, flexible telehealth practice, competitive per-session compensation, and additional monthly earning potential, we'd love to meet you.
Come help us build the future of behavioral healthcare — one family at a time.
