Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Boiler Plant Operator in Germantown, MD. The role requires 3+ years of utilities/building maintenance experience and an MD 3rd or 1st class Engineering License.

The operator will monitor and maintain plant systems, record logs, and ensure safe operation while coordinating with operations leadership. Proficiency in JCI BAS and MS Office is preferred; background check and drug testing are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in utilities/building maintenance.
• Proficient in the use and execution of the JCI BAS.
• MD 3rd or 1st class Engineering License is required.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and spoken.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation and maintenance during watch.
• Operate and maintain systems providing heat, AC, refrigeration, steam or electricity.
• Record logs of operation; keep engines and equipment in good order.
• Maintain records of boiler and safety equipment maintenance.
• Perform maintenance servicing and repairs of boiler room equipment.
• Monitor steam boilers, air compressors, chillers and related equipment.
• Evaluate building conditions and make necessary adjustments.
• Other assigned duties.
